👓 5 things nobody tells you about optometry

A short listicle this week:

  1. Good continuing education events cost money. Free continuing education events cost time.
  2. Most underrated learning opportunity: for patients you refer, ask ophthalmologists/neurologists to write back.
  3. Learn to read scientific articles. It's the best way to keep your practice up to date.
  4. When counselling: patients care more about your expression than your explanation. (Take it from me, RBF is not good here)
  5. Write thorough referral letters. Ophthalmologists are only going to trust you if you know what you’re doing.

See you all next week,

Jin
